| Title: | Parallelizing the Growing Self-Organizing Maps Algorithm Using Software Transactional Memory |
This talk will present the Growing Self-Organizing Maps clustering algorithm as well as the concurrency abstraction called Software Transactional Memory. After introducing and explaining both, the ways in which the latter can be applied to exploit parallelization opportunities in the former will be analyzed and the consequences of doing so will be demonstrated.
