Title: RESTful Encapsulation of OWLAPI

Abstract:

The OWL API, a Java API is developed on basis of OWL2 covering all its methodologies and hence providing functionalities for creating, manipulating and serializing OWL Ontologies. Although it’s methods provide all the requirements like the writing, parsing, reasoners on OWL Ontologies, they are restricted to a platform as the OWLAPI is based on Java. Hence, RESTfully encapsulating selected java methods in OWL API such that the encapsulated methods could be used as application interface (API) for Ontology Repositories like the Ontohub. We discuss the basics of OWLAPI, RESTful Web Services, Ontohub along with the methods and procedure of Encapsulation and the application of the same to Ontohub.
